The Tennouji Kabura Turnip is the oldest traditional Japanese turnips. It was originally a specialty of the Osaka Tennouji district, where it thrived during the Edo era in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. It is a spring crop so these turnips are freshly harvested and pickled in organic rice vinegar, shiso and ginger.

These Japanese turnips are cut in the wedge style to be consumed at a picnic, or as a side dish. These turnips are great served with fish or eaten a la carte.
